Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the most visited trekking trail in Nepal. The trek is one of contrasts between the green, terraced farmland on the start point to the semi-arid environment of the destination point. Annapurna region Trekking starts from Nayapul which is about 1 and half hour drive from Pokhara Valley. The beauty of the nature and the hospitality of the people living there make each day of your travel in this area a memorable one. Annapurna region trek passes through the forest of sakura trees and rhododendron in most. The blooming seasons makes the trek to feel as you are entering the Shangri-la.
This treks gives you the varied view of landscapes and the queue of Himalaya peaks spotting the famous ones as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, II, III and IV, Mt. Fishtail, Himalchuli, Gangapurna,etc. One can see the amazing natural facts like the deepest gorge in the world, Kali Gandaki Gorge along with the Shaligram (the fossil-stones) while going through this region. Most of the landscapes re dotted with the Tibetan prayer flags. It is also the gate way to the Lake Tilicho which is located at the highest elevation on Earth.

As you make your way out of the arrival gates, look out for a cheerful face of our Merit Adventure representative holding a placard, with your name on it. He will drop you to the hotel. Rest awhile to shake off that jet-lag! Stroll around the vicinity and acquaint yourself to the city, the vibrant marketplaces and the colorful ambience of the surroundings will definitely spellbind you. Following breakfast, our adventure begins with a scenic drive to Pokhara offering views of rivers, terrace fields and captivating view of the Annapurna range as you near the city- scenic lake city of Pokhara. Feel free to take a stroll through the city in the evening or relax by the lakeside. Overnight in Pokhara.

After you’ve had your breakfast, you’d be driving to Siwai meandering through beautiful landscape with the majestic mountains in view, passing many local settlements till you reach Siwei. From here you’d ascend till you reach the village of Chhomrong. You’d be welcomed by the stunning view of the huge Annapurna massif. Overnight in Chhomrong.
Altitude: 2920m/9344ft|Trek 7-8 hrs
Following your breakfast, this day also involves similar walking having to walk down on 2500 stone steps, then crossing the swaying suspension over the Chhomrong River. Then you’d trek uphill to Sinuwa, and the trail traverses a beautiful forest to Kuldihar, followed by an easy downhill walk to Bamboo. Then, you’d carry on walking traversing the bamboo forest here you are hid from the sun most of the time; the area is damp and cold. The day has some steady climb sections that are steep; make sure you are wearing sturdy pair of trekking boots. Once you have reached the Himalaya Hotel (name of the place) you can find yourself bathing in the sun again. There are amazing views you don’t want to miss like the remarkable view of the glacial river while trekking. Overnight in Himalayan Hotel.

Today’s walk initially starts with a steep climb you’d reach the Hinku Cave trekking through a drier forest. The trail here goes down close to the river and climbs to Deurali offering scenic view of the mountains getting closer. You’d be entering in the valley, that’s just too astounding with less vegetation with rock cliffs so steep above with cascading, silvery waterfalls. The trail goes up a river bed then it steepens against the cliffs. Following a short trek you’ll reach Bagar. Now, be prepared for a bit arduous trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp- a real test for your legs. The views from Machhapuchhre Base Camp will leave you stunned the highlight being the grand, untouched Machhapuchhre with other peaks like Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna you cannot miss those views at all. As we approach the Annapurna we traverse alpine meadows and later the trail gently climbing up. The vegetation becomes sparse en route to Annapurna Base Camp with trail really wide when entering the Annapurna sanctuary. This is where the view of south face of Annapurna appears really up close which makes this trek one of the scenic experience. The are other mesmerizing views of the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other peaks from the Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.
Altitude: 2360m/7552ft| Trek 7-8 hrs
It’s our day to trek back to Sinuwa which is a long walk. Watch out! It’s time to challenge if your knees are shaky while trekking downhill to Dovan though it’s less strenuous. Then, trek uphill to reach Bamboo. Enjoy the beautiful, picturesque landscape which can indeed make you forget your tiredness. Next you’d be trekking uphill traversing rhododendron, oak and bamboo forests. From Bamboo, you’d reach Kuldighar trekking uphill followed by trekking to Chhomrong River downhill to reach Sinuwa. You’d be halting for the night. Overnight in Sinuwa.

After breakfast, from Sinuwa you’d be climbing up the stone stairs to Chhomrong. Then you’d reach Jhinu Danda descending downhill, and carry on your walk to Siwei. If time permits you can relax at the hot springs in Jhinu Danda. At Siwei, your vehicle would be waiting for you to take you back to Pokhara. It’s time to pamper oneself after the trek or hop into one of the bars or pubs by the lakeside to unwind and relax. Overnight in Pokhara.

Following an early breakfast, get ready to drive back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. Enjoy the drive which is indeed fantastic passing by beautiful Nepalese countryside of little towns, river and villages. Once you reach Kathmandu, check in at your hotel. Free to explore on your own, indulge in some last minute shopping or visit some UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. It’s time to get triumphant of your journey, so a farewell dinner in the evening will be arranged for you. Overnight in Kathmandu.
